Hey everyone,

I'm just letting everyone know that after a successful 5 years of Local's being on the air, once a month it is finally going to end.

We first started out as "Local band Knight"only knowing 3 bands and than it changed format to "Locals" So we can include more talented people.
Now thanks to the dedicated volunteers for Local's, we have grown to know over 100 bands and alot of them are friends outside of the show too.

We haven't been on the air for over a year and our last guest was Sugerblade. Since we have been waiting for so long to get my training done at co-op radio, I thought it was best to do another passion and dream instead of waiting around to do a show I have lost intrest in.

Some of you may know and some of you might not know, but I was the choreographer and dance leader of a christian dance team, i started before I did the radio show.
So now I am wanting to get back on my feet and start a dance/hip hop team where I am the choreographer and dance leader again.

I guess I have been doing radio for so long that now, It just seams more like a chore than fun and that's why I am now following other dreams.

Another reason I am ending the show is because I would like to help out with Vancouver Artist Collective Association more. You can find out more, if you haven't already at www.myspace.com/vanartscollective
I'm sure I told many of you about it before.

Finally the last reason Local's is ending is because we never got that much support as we should of from all the artists that wanted to be apart of Local's.
It was also disappointing that even though I would reminded you too support our show by either putting us in your top friends list, writing a blog, putting up our banner on your sites, Only a few of Local's artists did.
So I didn't think bugging people was worth it anymore.
That's another big reason the show is ending.
Local's mission was to be like a family where artists can help support each other and network while they tell others about our show.
Unfortunately most of that was only done when you were a guest on the air or I came to a show.
So I guess I'm also overwhelmed with doing all this stuff and than noticing that the people who wanted to be apart of Local's didn't share the same values and only few did.
I'm not naming anyone,
I'm just saying" if a company is supporting you, support them back! If its VACA, Garage Entertainment, hsb radio, Rednyne productions, Food for music plus others... Don't just support them when there doing a show for you, support them in any way you can!
Our show might have lasted longer if we had lots of support, but we only got few and that's why I am telling you that because I hope you will actually support another company! Go to there shows(even if you're not playing) tell other bands you play with about them, put a banner on your site etc..There's different ways you can show your support!!
The Fact is we can't support you, without getting support back!
We need people and artists to help out our company's in this industry, so they don't feel not appreciated and don't have to do as much work to get people out. Help us and give us a break once in awhile, after all we do so much for you!.
I may sound mean and selfish when I say that, but that's one reason I am quiting the show. We didn't get as much support as we should have after we know so many artists and we do sooooo much for them! SO I hope you will learn as an artist that you need to help us out(music company's) so we can help you! After all, we're all in the same industry and we're doing it for the artists!

So I am ending the show to follow my other dreams in dancing, going back to school and working more with VACA.

I would like to thank all the artists either way, Local's wouldn't have lasted so far without your music and so we thank you for that and for coming to do interviews when you did.

Also thanks to the dedicated hard working volunteers of Local's, over the years: Connie Ng, Sarah Martin, K, Yumi Ang,Laurie-Anne(aka LA),chris schuh (first co-host),Sabrina Nurse, our supporter and friend,John from Motherdown.(Co-host.),Chris Curtis( Co-host), Bev B (co-host),co-op radio and support from my other friends and boyfriend.

That's about it though, its time to follow other dreams and passions and I hope you all understand and will support me whenever I have a show or you will come to a VACA event.

I am also going to keep your contact info and pass it on to VACA just so they can contact you about upcomming shows that they might want you to play at, donations and other important stuff.
I won't give out your phone numbers , but I will keep all the contact info for myself in case I put on shows and need a band or another artist. If you don't want me to pass on your contact info to VACA please let me know. Although if you let VACA have it, it will give you more opportunity's.

We will be throwing an ending party for Local's sometime in November for the VACA Variety night at the Backstage Lounge. We don't have a date yet, but it will be in mid Nov. We will have cake there and if you tell me that you are going I can get you a 2 for 1 deal so it would only cost $3 each person. Cover charge will be $6. I'm doing the party at the VACA event so it will help support them and you can learn more about VACA. I will keep you posted when I have the date of the show. I hope you guys will come!
